Climbing out of Tacoma's downtown (Phil Blenkush)
South Fawcett Avenue Route
From Pacific Avenue
West on South 17th, cross tracks and proceed up hill approximately half a block
Left on Jefferson
Cross South 25th
Right on to South Fawcett (which merges with Jefferson)
Continue on Fawcett to Wright Park area where it merges with Tacoma Ave.
Right on Tacoma Avenue.
Left on South 1st St.
Right on G St.
Left on Division Ave
Right on Yakima Ave (at traffic light -- 5-way intersection)

South Yakima route
Stay southbound on South Jefferson
Right on ramp that climbs to Yakima

To Spanaway:
East on N 11th from UPS Fieldhouse
At intersection take Ainsworth Ave.
Cross 6th Ave
Left on S 15th
Right on Yakima Ave. Follow Yakima across I-5 (long climb)
Continue south across S 38th.
Left (east) to Park and continue south.
Left at PLU one block to C Street
Right on C Street
Eventually it dead ends at Military Road and Sprinker Recreation Center.

To Point Defiance Park and the Vashon Ferry:
Connect to North Stevens Street and ride the bicycle lane to the northernmost end.
Turn left at the gulch.
Ride east a couple blocks to Cheyenne St.
Turn right on Cheyenne and ride down minor hill to N. 45th and turn
left on N. 45th
Right on Baltimore
Left on 49th (the Unicorn Tavern).
Right at Winnifred, cross the small railroad bridge, continue down to N 54th.
Left on N 54th
Two blocks to the park's entrance and the street to the ferry.

To Steilacoom:

West on N. 11th St.
Right on Pearl St.
Left on N. 21st (cross Pearl)
Left on Skyline St.
Cross Highway 16 on bicycle/pedestrian bridge
Right on S 11th
Left on Meyers
Left on Geiger
Right on S 16th

Left on Mountain View (downhill)
Right on 27th SW

From the Park and Ride at Skyline and 6th Ave.
Leave park and ride onto MacArthur St.
Right on S 10th
Left on Meyers
Cross S 12th St and continue on Meyers
Left on S Geiger
Left on S 16th St.
Right on Meyers
Right on 17th St.
Left on Meyers
Cross S 19th onto Seaview
Left on 21st St.
Right on Cascade Pl
Right on W 27th St (get into the left turn lane)
Left on Morrison Rd.
Go around barrier
Right on 35th St.
Left on Bridgeport (new bike lanes!)

Right on Crystal Spring Rd.

Winds onto Academy Terrace
Pass 57th St. W
Go around the gate in the road (watch for glass)
Breeze down the hill to Chambers Creek Rd.
Right on Chambers Creek Rd.

Fly down the hill and into Steilacoom
Beware of the nasty railroad tracks
