In contrast to our son, Brent, who bicycled 34,000 miles in 22 months, crisscrossing the equator four times circling the globe. On Feb.12 we threw our bikes on the Rhode Gear carrier strapped to the back of our car and took off on a 4-week vacation to southern California.
