She was crossing a street in a crosswalk when she was struck and killed by a charter bus making a left turn. Many in the bicycle community haven’t forgotten her energy and humor. Susie was the Executive Director of the bicycle Alliance from 1994 to 1998, among other positions on behalf of bicycle and pedestrian safety. Many people were motivated to help with imporving bicycle and pedestrian safety in their community because of Susie. Now we have the opportunity to plant a living
