Oh, you missed a good time if you weren't at our annual Wheelmenst banquet. on January 19th. We enjoyed excellent dinners at Johnny's Dock ina secluded room overlooking the water. Stove Newton and Nancy Clemens put their heads together, and, with the help of the ballots that vere turned in, came up with the Bikies! Choice Awards for 1978. These were presented after a brief jng and yore the highlight of the evening. Thanks, Gail, for making the arrangements.

Even thotigh it's the dead of winter, there havo been a fair number of people turning out for the rides, Fifteen hardy souls wont on Carol's ride to Orting, despite drizzle (an understatement) and less than balny temp- eratures, Well, I've been told that if youtre cold on a ride, youtre not pedaling fast enough, But n amount of exertion seems to help when it comes to cold feeb (no pun intended), If you have a good remedy, please let no knows

Carol has promised that her next ride to Orting, which will be the Daffodil Century, will be warm and sunny, She agreed to be the chairman after Eob Pranson told us he would be unable to do it this year. Carol said she got it by process of elimination — she was the last one to leave the Cloverleaf after the December meeting. Thank you, Bob, for all of your successful efforts toward making the Daffodil a major event in the Puget Sound bicycling community!

Bicyele maintenance and repair workshops are under way again at the-
Weldonst house. Two of our club pros, Randy Davis and Steve Newton, are
teaching us what to do when the bike Pritzes out (besides calling a taxi).
Cone and give your chain one of Frank's hot-oil treatments, And for those
wno want to get into more involved maintenance, we can pull apart our hubs
and bottom brackets or something.

4 UNE 30th] SEATTLE TO PORTLAND RIDE{ "In one day? Are you erazy?”
Yeah, erazy abount bicycling. At our next general necting, Paul Boyer,
oresident of the Cascade Bieyele Club, will be the guest speaker. Hetll
