“here has been an interest displayed about Club patches. So, at the
OCTOBZR meeting there will be a vote on the design of your enoice. SO far
We have three to choose from. If you have a favorite, bring it along and
we will see you there.
Last month we had a ride with quite a few ups and downs. Cn one of these downs—a rather steep one with a couple of tight turns—two people took a spill over the handlebars. Luckily, both were wearing helmets and landed in soft places, i.e. ditch and bushes, so neither were seriously injured.
30, that brings us to this month's safety tip: When descending an unfamiliar or steep and winding hill, slide your seat back on the saddle to redistribute your weight more to the rear of the bike. fhis will help you keep the bike more in control and lessen the chance of doing a flip. Also, do not lock the brakes as this can cause the tires to skid thereby causing you to loose control. If the brakes are held on for too long at a time, the rim could overheat and the tire would blow off the rim. so, pump the brakes as you descend to keep from building too much speed and having to make a panic stop which could end in catastrophy.
