Thursday Night
Rides Are Back 1!!!
Once again it's that time of
year for the Thursday night rides
to begin. These are evening rides
ranging in length from 8-12 miles,
generally with an ice-cream stop.
This year we are making a couple of changes due to the amount of daylight now and the casual pace of these rides. The meeting time is going to be changed to 6:45 p.m. with the rides starting PROMPTLY at 7:00 p.m.
The ride leaders are required to have at least 2 cue sheets so we can have a sweep. to bring up the back of the pack. We hope these changes will add to the enjoy- ment of these evening rides. Hope to see you there!

ACROSS THE CONTINENT OR TRAVELING
THE UNITED STATES THE LONG WAY
Our family is setting off on
another cycling trip---a 3200-mile
adventure that will take us across
the varied cultures, climates, and
topography of the United States.
We have met with many reactions
from people regarding our trip---
everything from an enthusiastic,
"That's really great", to a shake
of the head and raised eyebrows.
We try not to confuse ourselves or
others about our trip. As Mark
Twain might say, "We're just expand-
ing our horizons."
The planning is in the final stages. We will be crossing Wash- ington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Lowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, and Virginia, with Washington, D.C. as our final destination (Whew!). A lion's share of the information has come from many friends and acquaint- ances. Their experiences and help have proved invaluable in tailoring our trip to our expectations. Thank you all!
We hope to see you all when we
depart on May 24th. Even if you
aren't going on the camping trip,
we would enjoy a wave goodbye or
having you ride a few miles with us.
See you in September!
