Add miles to your
riding, comfort to
your miles.

Get ready for a "hands-on" experience on
April 17! Have you ever imagined how
wonderful it would be to have your. own
masseuse? Bring a friend to the next club
meeting and train your own.

Licensed Massage Therapist Dr. Harry Brook-
man will teach sports preparation massage and
thereapy as well as post-sports massage. He
will demonstrate the correct massage techni-
ques for quadriceps, hamstrings, shoulders and
neck.

Dr. Brookman advices those of you who want
to get involved to wear warm-up suits or
cycling/exercise wear and be ready to enjoy the
benefits, both physical and stress-relieving, that
massage therapy can bring.

WE’RE MOVING THE
APRIL CLUB MEETING

Our new meeting location will be the Oakland
Recreation Center at 4020 South 31st Street.
That is just north of Center Street, one block

SURVEY SYNOBSIS

Each month the newsletter will report on one or
two aspects of the Club survey and the discussion
of the results that was held on March 17. This
month the focus is on the demographics of our
membership, and the survey in general.

118 surveys were returned, reflecting a very diverse membership. When asked about their riding habits and the type of riding they’d like to see in our club, the range was wide. From slow to fast, short miles to long, mid-week to weekend to overnight rides were all requested. A small percentage of our answers showed interest in mountain biking, and there was virtually no interest expressed in racing as part of our club’s needs. By and large the members of our club joined in order to have organized rides to participate in and to meet other riders. 97% of the respondents indicated that they do intend to

renew their membership. We can feel good about -

what we are currently doing. There were areas
where improvements and changes are suggested.
Some changes are already happening. For exam-
ple, our club meetings are no longer enduring a
long business meeting. A short period of
announcements and reports is held and we quickly
move into the program portion of the meeting. If
March’s attendance of 45 people is repeated, we'll
know we're doing the right thing. The diversity of
our membership indicates that almost any idea,
activity or ride would be welcome and would find
others who share that interest. Don’t hesitate to
suggest or try something new. Mid-week rides
seem to be a good possibility - how about some
new ride leaders? It truly is your club!

. The Pierce County Transit, in their develop
