and flipped over sending me sprawling ‘tito the roadway, Fortunately there were. no
cars coming to run over pe, Chris Buckner, ~iding behind me, stopped immediately,
ran ovér and ask "Is your olke hurt? " Did you hurt your bike"? Actually I was mo
concerned for my personal anatomy, Struggling to my feet I discovered nothing mor
serboug than a skinned knee, : ;

: 2 Bicyeling with Jack (cont,) We have had serval accidents lately, fortunately nothing of a serious nature, Last week on Frank*’s, South Center ride, Marx Natz and Pat Branson both took spills at the railroad tracks, Be sure to hit railroad tracks at right angles and keep a frim grip on the handle bars, If the ere is too mich traffic stop and walk your bike over, Better to be delayed > thirty seconds than fall into the middle of the road and get run over, :

At Graham we stopped at < handy market for pop and candy bars, them startd ed back, We soon turned off the main drag and Ruth, led us down a rock and bou- lder strewn logging read which soon petered out to a trail through the bush, Ev= en this trail deterioatcdas we made our way down a steep hillover logs an bushes, Some carried their bikes, I heard crashes behind me as people fell, thrashing

, around in the bush with their picyeles on top of them, Leader lynching mitter-

ing was rampant up and down the line, There was no lack. of trees to hang her on, but noone had a rope, At the bottom of the hill we ran out of the Boods an onte an open pasture, Did you ever ride your bike through a wet, soft, sogey -— pasture? Better come along on Tacoma Whee] men Club rides, Who knows what'll be next! On the far side of the pasture , we hit a smooth easy road and leader hanging talk soon subsided, The opinion was unanamous though, that this ride was different to say the least. i

Back at Ruth's house we lined up to a table that greaned with it’s load of goodies, I*1l bet there was enough for fifty people, Four or five kinds of potato salad, Spaghettil, Jello , beans, meat balls, hot dogs, and drinks-- you name it someone had brought it, No one went away hungry or thristy here,

This was one of our real fun rides and I'am going to implor Ruth, to do
this again, and soon! eo ‘
