In Memorium

The Tacoma Wheelmen’s Club lost a valued friend and member with the death of Jack Williams on November 1.

*k, who was 69, died after a long illness. Jack was a
iwunding member of the TWC in the early 1970's, served as
Touring Captain and as unofficial club historian, maintaining
a complete collection of club newsletters. We remember
his friendly presence on club rides, his courteous ways, his
generous nature and his knack for collecting road finds.
ou I never again spot a choice road find without thinking
of Jack.

Jack's family requested that contributions in his memory be given to the TWC. We must now decide on a fitting tribute to Jack. Contributions or suggestions for the use of these

funds are welcome.

A few changes are in the works for the 1990 STP, so get out
your new calendars and read on:

First, the 1990 dates will be June 30, July 1 and July 2.
That is a SATURDAY, SUNDAY and MONDAY. Second, the
official STP headquarters in Portland will be the Red Lion at
Jantzen Beach.

Cascade Bicycle Club reports that the Rotarians International booked a convention FIVE years ago for June 23 and 24. Every hotel in the city is full. The Holladay Park Red Lion is also booked up the following weekend. The Jantzen Beach, Columbia River and inn at the Quay Red Lions can take the STP crowd on Sunday night, but not Saturday. Brunch and return will be at Jantzen Beach on Monday, July 2. The ride will probably finish at West Delta Park, near Jantzen Beach, though this ts not definite at this point. A complete list of the ather motels in the area will be included in the registration book due out at the end of February.

First Annual Art Sculpture Open House Show and Sale on
Saturday, Dec. 9, 11am-2pm at 1110 E. Sist St., Tacoma.
